Castor - Castor (1995)

Castor hail from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, the same area as wonderful bands like Hum and Love Cup. They're a great band and it took me a little while to track down their stuff, but it was worth it. Recommended if you enjoy guitar based music.

The Smashing Pumpkins - The Aeroplane Flies High (1996)

Something special for everyone. This boxset is amazing. It features 5 singles from the Pumpkins' opus, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 30 incredible b-sides. This is essential for anyone that is into the Pumpkins and anyone remotely interested music. It is a very eclectic and beautiful collection of music. More info at the wiki page.

Silversun Pickups - Pikul (2005)

Silversun Pickups' debut EP. Slower guitar based songs with some soft noise. There is some definite shoegaze influence but I wouldn't go so far as to call Silversun Pickups a shoegaze band. Enjoyable listen if you're into 90's alternative rock.
