Centaur - In Streams (2002)

The sole album by Centaur, a band formed in 2000 by Hum's frontman Matt Talbott along with Derek Niedrignhaus of Castor and Jim Kelly of Sixteen Tons. Inevitably, this album is going to be compared to Hum and much of the material rivals the quality of the work Talbott did with Hum.

Third album by the English space rock band Spiritualized. An absolutely amazing album, and one of my all time favourites. A must listen for anyone.

Silversun Pickups - Pikul (2005)

Silversun Pickups' debut EP. Slower guitar based songs with some soft noise. There is some definite shoegaze influence but I wouldn't go so far as to call Silversun Pickups a shoegaze band. Enjoyable listen if you're into 90's alternative rock.

Hum - Downward is Heavenward (1998)

Hum's final album. A collection of beautiful, crushing love songs. It's one of my all time favourites. Do yourself a favour and listen to this.

Hum's third album overall but their first with the classic lineup. Absolutely amazing space rock. Essential.

Failure - Magnified (1994)

Second album by 90's space rock group Failure. Oft compared to other other active bands around their time such as Nirvana or Soundgarden, though their sound is considerably more textured and the guitar work is very impressive. Probably more similar to Hum, if anything.
